The Series 2100 AutoDrill is based on the 2000 Series unit with the addition of a plunger-style HydroSpeed feed cylinder. This addition overcomes the limitation of simple pneumatic feed control. The two-speed feed rate is standard. The HydroSpeed (sometimes called Hydra-Brake) controls the critical work penetration feed rate and breakthrough process. Check out our videos section for examples of a HydroSpeed in use.

The HydroSpeed can be provided in multiple locations. This flexibility is appreciated when drilling closely spaced holes or on special projects where flexibility is critical. It also simplifies maintenance since it can be repositioned or replaced without disturbing the body of the drill.

The 2100 Series AutoDrill's features are:

There are several advantages of an industrial drill over a hand drill, among them:

Accuracy: they are much more accurate. They can drill a perfectly aligned hole at the precise angle needed. Using a hand drill for such a task could easily turn into a failed attempt, even by a professional.

Speed: if our job is to drill several holes, for example, on a wooden or metal plate, an automatic drill not only performs the task faster but is also simpler. This is because the movement of the chuck and spindle is performed automatically by air pressure.

Power: a handheld drill has very limited power, while an automatic drill has a variable speed that allows better control for the user.

Accuracy: they can drill a hole to the precise depth and at the precise angle, as the angle of the spindle is fixed relative to the table, allowing holes to be drilled accurately and repeatably.

Safety: a hand drill can easily slip into the user's hand. In contrast, an industrial drill provides more stability for the workpiece, as the table allows a vise or clamp to firmly locate and tighten the workpiece, making the operation much safer.

It is no coincidence, then, that such a useful tool has been around for several years and in fact was, like other presses, one of the first machines to be invented.
